Flight Training Offerings
Type rating courses
Enable pilots to obtain regulating agency’s certification of an airplane pilot to fly a certain aircraft type.
Shortened type rating courses
Enable pilots with prior jet transport experience to obtain a type rating certification with reduced training hour requirements.
Recurrent courses
Enable pilots to obtain mandatory training required on a regular basis by the regulatory authority to refresh the knowledge of safety protocols and any aircraft or regulatory updates.
Differences courses
Enable pilots to obtain the required training to extend privileges to another variant of the airplane within the same class rating or type rating.
Prerequisites for All Student Pilots
- English oral and reading comprehension level to level IV ICAO standards.
- Valid and current Airline Transport Certificate (NAA) or commercial license.
- Valid multi-engine and instrument ratings (or equivalent NAA ratings) for the operation of a commercial, multi-engine transport airplane.
- Experience in the functions and duties of a captain or first officer.
Course Overview
Training follows a traditional format of theoretical training followed by practical training on synthetic training devices.
- Theoretical training is delivered through eLearning or distance learning courseware in a carrel or classroom at the training center, or online.
- Systems integration and procedural training is conducted in a flight-training device.
- Practical and theoretical training is conducted on desktop simulators, flat-panel trainers, or full flight simulators.
Optional Add-on Courses for Type Rating Courses and Shortened Type Rating Courses include:
- RNAV (GNSS) Approaches
- RNP AR
- CAT II/III
- ETOPS
Theoretical Training (Typical)
Theoretical training is delivered by eLearning or computer-based training (CBT) courseware in a carrel at the training center (some carrels are designed around a flight-deck mock-up) or online.
- Student pilots can contact their instructor throughout the theoretical phase of the course.
- Videos, interactive exercises, and stand-up instruction are provided in various course offerings.
- Systems integration and procedural training is conducted in a flight-training device.
- Distance Learning courses are available for Type Rating Courses and Shortened Type Rating Courses.
Practical Training and Checking
Practical flight training is performed primarily in the full flight simulator.
- Each practical training event is preceded by a 60- or 90-minute instructor-led briefing and followed by a detailed debriefing.
- Check rides are delivered by a qualified Boeing examiner, customer-assigned examiner, or approved regulator.
- Each course concludes with an evaluation flight performed in a full flight simulator.
- An oral or computer-based exam is administered for T1 and STAR courses, as required by the regulatory agency.
Training Documents (Typical)
Course syllabus:
- Model-specific training manual
- Flight crew operations manual
- Flight crew training manual
- Quick reference handbook
- Jeppesen charts
- Training record, including check forms
- Training documents are delivered digitally
Regulatory Approvals
